Data protection

The protection of your privacy and personal data is important for us, and we have designed and implemented our internet activities according to this. Our data protection practice is in accordance with the regulations of the German Federal Data Protection Regulation (BDSG) and other data protection directives on the internet. Personal data is only collected with your knowledge and permission. We do not forward personal data to third parties.

The DKV guarantees the confidentiality of your data via:

  • implementing extensive security regulations and actions to protect personal data saved by us from unauthorised access, misuse, destruction and loss
  • our precautions for data security corresponding to the latest state of technology
  • data created by your visit to our website only being documented for statistical and security-relevant purposes
  • our company data protection representative ensuring observance of the "data protection declaration".

The IP address is saved for purposes of anti-abuse measures only so long as it is required in specific cases.

You have the right to gain free information on request about saved data regarding your person. You also have the right to demand correction of incorrect data, locking of this data and deletion.

Customer area via login

Personal data is collected if you register on our website to participate in the competition procedure for the Eco Performance Award. This includes the name, address and telephone number as well as the email address as contact and communication data.

The protection of your privacy and personal data is highly important for us. With the separate login area, it is necessary from a technical point of view to save certain personal data. This data is only collected in the login area for the following purposes:

  1. Your login data is saved for your identification
  2. We collect statistics concerning incoming page views
  3. These statistics are forwarded internally to our marketing department to provide you with an extensive service.

The registration enables access to services and content only available to registered users. If desired, registered users may modify or delete data at any time that were specified as part of the registration process. Upon request we will of course inform you which personal data was collected and stored. We also correct or delete this data on request, provided that the matter is not subject to any legislative storage obligations. Please use the contact data specified in this data protection declaration if you have any questions or to request the correction or deletion of data.

If you register for our newsletter, we use the data entered by you only for this purpose or to inform you about matters relevant for this service or for matters concerning the registration. We do not forward this data to third parties.

A valid email address is required to receive the newsletter. The IP address is also saved via which you register for the newsletter, and the date on which you order the newsletter. This data helps us to establish misuse if an unknown email address is registered for the newsletter. Furthermore, to ensure that an email address is not improperly entered into our distribution list by third parties, we work in compliance with legislation with the so-called "double opt-in" process. As part of this process, ordering the newsletter, sending the confirmation mail and receipt of the registration confirmation is logged.

You may revoke your consent at any time for storage of the data, your email address and its use for the newsletter dispatch. Each newsletter and the website itself provides a link for this cancellation. You can also inform us of your cancellation requirement using the contact options specified in this document.

If you wish to contact us via email, we save the information you specified to enable us to answer your request and to formulate possible follow-up questions.

We integrate plug-ins on our webpages from the social network Facebook (address: 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA). You recognise the plug-ins – for an overview see: - on the "like" button or with the Facebook logo.

If you call one of our webpages with a Facebook plug-in, a direct connection to Facebook is established. We have no influence on the type and extent of data collected, saved and processed by Facebook in this regard. We can merely inform you according to our state of information.

Facebook is informed via the plug-in that you viewed the corresponding webpage of our offer. This also applies for users not registered with Facebook. In this case the possibility exists that Facebook saves the IP address.

If you are a member of Facebook and are logged in, calling a webpage with a Facebook plug-in may be specifically assigned to your Facebook user account. Furthermore, the plug-ins communicate all interactions if for example you use the like button or leave a comment.

To prevent Facebook saving data about you, log yourself off of Facebook before visiting our webpages. You can also block the plug-ins with add-ons for the browser (e.g. "Facebook Blocker").

Information about data protection regulations, the purpose and extent of data collection and data processing as well as setting options for protecting privacy with Facebook can be viewed here:

Our webpages have plug-ins from the social network LinkedIn from LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereafter termed "LinkedIn"). The LinkedIn plug-ins can be identified with the LinkedIn logo or the "recommended button" on our page.

If you visit our pages a direct connection between your browser and the LinkedIn server is established via the plug-in. LinkedIn in this way gains information that you visited our page with your IP address.

If you click the LinkedIn "recommended button" while being logged onto your LinkedIn account, you can link the content of our pages to your LinkedIn profile. This enables LinkedIn to assign the visit to our pages with your user account.

We point out that we as the provider of the pages gain no knowledge of the content of forwarded data or its use by LinkedIn.

Details concerning data collection (purpose, extent, further processing, use) and your rights and setting options can be viewed in the data protection information of LinkedIn. Find this information from LinkedIn at

The "XING share button" is used on this internet page.

When this internet page is called your browser briefly establishes a connection to the servers of XING AG ("XING") with which the "XING Share Button" functions (especially calculation/display of the counter value) is implemented.

XING does not save any personal data about you if you call up this internet page. XING in particular saves no IP addresses. In connection with the "XING Share Button", no evaluation of your user behaviour via the use of cookies takes place.

For the latest data protection information about the "XING Share-Button" and supplementary information, see:

Use of Google Analytics

This webpage uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called 'cookies', text files saved to your computer to enable the analysis of your use of the website. Information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a server of Google in the USA and saved there. If IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address is previously abbreviated in member states of the European Union or in countries which are contracting parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the complete IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there.

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports about the website activities and to implement further services connected with website use and internet use for the website operator. The IP address of your browser determined as part of Google Analytics is not brought together with other data from Google. You can prevent the storage of cookies by a corresponding setting in your browser software. We point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website in their entirety.

In addition, you can prevent the recording of data by Google created by the cookie and related to use of the website (including your IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link: Browser add-on for deactivating Google Analytics.

In addition to installing the browser add-on, a further alternative is available to prevent the recording of data by Google Analytics. This is interesting in particular for users of mobile devices. Please click on the following link. This installs a so called opt-out cookie that prevents the tracking of data on this web page. The function remains until the cookie is deleted. If the cookie was deleted, simply click on the link again.

Deactivate Google Analytics

Google AdWords

This website uses the online advertising program "Google AdWords" and as part of this the conversion tracking. As part of this, Google Adwords stores a cookie on your computer if you reached our website via a Google advert. These cookies become invalid after 30 days and are not for purposes of personal identification. If users visit specific pages in our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognise that the user clicked on the advert and was forwarded to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the webpages of AdWords customers.

The information gained with the aid of the conversion cookies helps to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers gain information about the total number of users who clicked on their advert and who were forwarded to a website featuring a conversion tracking tag. They do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify the user.

If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can simply deactivate the cookie for Google conversion tracking via your internet browser under user settings. In that case you are not included in the conversion tracking statistics. Find out more about Google data protection regulations at
